Feast without putting on weight! More stamina with veal

Veal contains L-carnitine, a vitamin-like nutrient that supplies heart and immune cells with energy, prevents fatigue, boosts regeneration and improves stamina.

Alfons Schuhbeck (58) has been cooking for FC Bayern on all their overseas trips for the last 15 years.

In his series “Alfons Schuhbeck – Meine sportliche Küche” (My sports cuisine), today's special is a veal dish.

“Veal is easily digestible and also stimulates muscle growth”, says the chef.

“It contains L-carnitine, a vitamin-like nutrient, that supplies heart and immune cells with energy, prevents fatigue, boosts regeneration and improves stamina.”

Schuhbeck serves the footballers plenty of vegetables to go with the meat.

“The more colourful, the more vitamins they contain,” he adds.“There is lots of vitamin C in peppers, vitamin A in pumpkin and vitamin B in peas.”

He also has a tip for figure-conscious ladies: “Cucumbers with their high water content contribute to regulating the fluid balance in the body and are also a source of important minerals.”

Dear reader,

We are often asked for amino acid product recommendations. As we generally cannot answer this in a universal way, the information collected from our German colleagues could be used as a guide to those who are looking for quality supplements: www.aminosaeuren.de. The site trialed and evaluated the products and services of the main providers in German-speaking countries. The information is currently only available in German, but you will nevertheless be able to see the names of the best manufacturers.
